As ‑ students of an entirely new school, it is the duty and privilege of every student to support the athletic teams representing them in such a way as to bring credit to the school and establish worthwhile traditions for later classes.

The enthusiasm and school pride which made last year's state baseball tournament so outstanding should be applied to every one of the sports in which Maine West will participate.

Because we are representing a school operated on the new "school‑within‑a‑school" theory, it should be our goal to prove the effectiveness of such a plan to demonstrate that it in no way hinders the spirit which marks true school pride.

Enthusiastic support of the teams wearing Maine West's Columbia blue, gold, and white will accomplish this worthwhile end. Every athlete in every sport is out to gain honor and glory for his school . . . . it is only fitting that the student body should demonstrate the fact that they are behind him all the way.
