Sheltering palms, tropical flowers, and a fiery volcano will form the south sea island setting for Bahia, Maine West's first all‑school girl's choice dance, to be held in the school's cafeteria Saturday, February 27, from 9 to 12 p.m.
"In previous years at Maine, the dance has been held only for the juniors and seniors," explained Miss Marilyn Seidelmann, Girls' club sponsor. "But for the first time in years, all Maine West students are invited."
The reason for originally limiting it to upperclassmen was that the enrollment at Maine East became so great in the past years. "Now that the enrollment as Maine West is lower, the dance is open to all students," according to Miss Seidlemann ann.
Girls Pay Bill
The girls will foot the bill for this evening with the date of her choice and will provide him with a corsage of her own creation.

A native town hut will shelter Johnny Allen and his eightpiece band, who have played at Maine before and are rated as a favorite with high schools and country clubs in this area. Under a similar island hut, exotic punch will be served.
Tickets for the dance will be sold for $1.75 per couple during all lunch periods during the week of February 22‑27 in the cafeteria.

Sponsored by the Maine West Girls' club, Bahia is under the direction of social chairman Faith Olson and committee chairman Sue Fessenden, both juniors.
