Bud Narrates West Record

Bud Gundelach, senior, was chosen for the role of narrator in "Sound Sketch '60," Maine West's memory record. Tryouts were held on February 4.

The idea of having a memory record was born in the summer of 1958, and, during the school year of 1958‑59, the first memory record, "Maine Sounds Off '59111 was made. Maine West decided to make its own record, and "Sound Sketch '60" was started.

Sales for the record were held during the week of January 25‑29. At this time 350 copies were sold. Denny Jordan, chairman of the "Sound Sketch '60" committee, has announced that there will be extra copies sold later on in the year, but that the price may be raised from $2 to $2.50 for those who wish to purchase a record.

The record, which will come out at the end of the school year, promises to be a great one. There will be excerpts from election week, the Christmas program, dedication ceremony, V‑show, and other memorable events of the school year. The record will be pressed by the RCA Victor company.
