NEDT Tests Taken Soon

Freshmen and sophomore students looking for more information concerning their abilities and capabilities can find National Educational Development tests very helpful. The test will be given on Tuesday, March 8. In order to be eligible to take the tests, students must pay a test fee of $1 in the bookstore by Friday, March 4.

"The test," reported Mr. J. J. Clouser, director of student activities, "is to show the student not only his weaknesses in his studies, but his strong points as well."

Some of the subjects to be tested on are the ability to understand the English language and mathematics, reading abilities in social and natural sciences, and word usage, or the ability to understand the meaning of words.

A sample problem from the test follows: Mr. Smith paid $6.30 for a quart and a half of paint. How much would he have paid for two pints of the same paint? (a) $2.10 (b) $3.15 (c) $4.10 (d) $6.30 (e) Not given (answer) e) Not given.

It is stressed that no slide rules, scratch paper, or any such outside help be used.
