Maine West's new FM radio station, 'WMTH, 88.5 on your dial, has received various opinions from the student body.
The majority of the students enjoy listening to the station, but according to Jim Scott, junior, "I would like to hear more modern records such as Stan Kenton, Gerry Mulligan, and Ahmad Jamal." He would also like to hear recordings from the school combos.
Anaterese Giardini junior, states, "I love the station, but I wish they would play more albums, such as "South Pacific" and "Oklahoma."
When asked whether or not he enjoyed the station, Wil Battles, Junior, answered that the dinner music was very enjoyable, but the music to study by was too long‑haired. He stated that he could hear the station quite well and enjoyed listening to it.
"I would like to hear the broadcasts of the away basketball games," was the statement made by David Hopkins, junior. "It could be about a half‑hour longer," asserted Dave.

Two seniors, Bob Skaleski, and Chuck Robison, regretted to say that the station never comes in on their radios.
On the whole, the only things the students would like to hear are more news about Maine West instead of Maine, and a clearer station.
The teachers also gave their opinions on the station, and according to Mrs. Howard Michads, secretary to Mr. Frost, "the music is soothing to the nerves." She stated that her son enjoys the program a great deal, also.
Mr. A. G. Koenig, senior government teacher, bought an FM radio especially for listening to the program. His children, who attend Arlington Heights school, like to listen to the program to hear the latest news from Maine and Maine West. "It's a good program, and it keeps the children from watching television all of the time," declared Mr. Koenig.
Miss Carol Swanson, receptionist, listens to the program whenever she has a chance, and enjoys it tremendously.
