Hansen, and Hunt Head
'60 V-Show

THE 1960 VARIETY SHOW, Stage West '60, is in the capable hands of Dottie Hansen, student director. Besides being a Student Council member for three years, Dottie was a member of the cheerleading squad in her sophomore year and the pom‑pom squad and gym leader program her junior and senior years. Added to her creative ability, is Dottie's friendly personality and her superiority scholastically; two years ago she received a Brotherhood award and last year she was elected to National Honor Society. She is now secretary of N.H.S.

When asked if she knew any unusual people, Dottie smiled and said, "One of my best friends collects "M" pins." Dottie's pet peeves are "People who collect "M" pins, people who think they're sharp but aren't, and people who talk about something they know nothing about."

Dottie's favorite hobbies and foods include sewing, swimming, golf, and garlic bread. Her most famous last words, "I guess I'm the kind of person who says that I'm going on a diet but never does." (There's a certain L.W. at M. of 0. that seems to be quite pleased with things just the way they are, Dottie.) One of Dottie's most exciting memories was when she and two of her friends ran the mile (?) with the boys' track team.

As for the future, Miss Hansen plans to attend Beloit college in Wisconsin, where she will major in secondary education. Her main ambition is to one day return to teach at Maine West.

HOW WOULD YOU like the job of knowing every V‑show cast member and where they're supposed to be for every minute of a 2 1/2 hour show? That's the task of Tim Hunt, stage manager of "Stage West '60," the 1960 'Variety show. Because of this, he can be found at all hours of the day busily looking up the schedules of the female cast members in the P.O. Despite the difficulty (?) of his job, Tim insists that he loves "working" on the show.

Tim could be classified as the Jack‑of‑All‑Trades of the WESTERNER staff. Among other things, he is the official business manager, exchange editor, and homeroom news editor. He is also a drummer of sorts, playing both in the Concert band and the Concert orchestra.

All this activity keeps our Mr. Hunt very busy indeed, yet he still finds time for his favorite hobby ‑ well, addiction is the word‑bowling. A member of several leagues, he has been consistently maintaining a 190‑plus average.

People who refer to his powerful streamlined automobile as a "green gravel grinder", and students who pilfer his coveted seat at lunch, are listed among his strongest dislikes.

The future of this amiable senior includes college at the University of Illinois and then a career as a juvenile officer.
