Creative Writing Book Nicknamed
Westwords

This year's creative writing publication, Westwords, will contain essays, stories, poems, and sketches written by students of all classes. In past years the creative writing classes have been the sole contributors; but this year anyone in the school will be able to write for Westwords. Students wishing to submit material should consult their English teachers.

The sponsors, Miss Elizabeth Griffith and Miss Anne Lauterbach from the English department, released the names of the senior staff. Jerry Mohr is editor associate editors are Andrea Ouse, Sharon Shine, and Mary Anne Yonus. Sue Frazier is art editor; Joe Byers is business manager; and the editorial assistants are Gail Hewitt, Tim Hunt, Mary Anne Kopp, and Nancy Thinnes. They are all seniors with the exception of Sue Frazier who is a junior.

Slated to come out in the last week of May, Westwords has been sold in English classes for 35 cents. Copies may be purchased today in the cafeteria during lunch periods. According to Miss Griffith, "Everyone is welcome to submit articles for publication. Material will be judged according to merit, without consideration of the rank of the author."

A preliminary evaluation of freshman and sophomore manuscripts will be made by the following staff: Carol Anderson, Nancy Corner, and Connie Holmes. Art assistants are Donna Fiduccia and Dan Humay.
