Running like true Warriors, the varsity cindermen romped past the Glenbrook Spartans, 86 1/2 to 13 1/2, before a home crowd at Maine East last Saturday. West captured top honors in every event. Tonight, the broadmen will host the Spartans for a second time, again at the East fieldhouse.
The perfect 12 victories out of 12 events was made possible by the following Warriors: junior Ed Luzietti who skimmed over the 50‑yard high hurdles in his fastest time, :06.9; Ron Albertson, junior clocked a :05.7 and a win in the 50‑yard dash; and another junior, Frank Schwartz, who captured the 880‑yard run in the brisk time of 2:07.6 The four‑lap relay team, consisting of seniors Bob Neuman, Ed Ritzema, Jerry Swanberg, and junior Ron Albertson won the 700‑yard relay race in 1:18.1.

The final victory for West came in the pole vault as junior Art Lemke and senior Jim Solka both vaulted 10 feet 6 inches to tie for first.
