Music will be the theme of the evening, March 25, at 8 p.m. when 200 Maine West musicians will present an orchestral and vocal concert. Activity and Booster tickets will be honored, otherwise admission is $1 and may be paid at the door.
The conductors, Mrs. Mildred Heidorn and Mr. Wilbur Schafer, have put together a varied program to please all. Performing will be the combined Junior orchestra, Concert orchestra, Girls' and Boys' choruses, Girls' glee club, Choraliers, and Senior choir. Other members of the music department, Mr. Robert Kuite, chairman; and Mr. Jared Spears, theory instructor, have also been active in the planning.
Featured especially on this program will be a vocal composition by the Senior choir, "Rejoice in the Lord," written by Mr. Spears. This occasion will be the first performance of the selection. Mr. Spears also wrote a number for the band which was performed at the dedication ceremonies last November. Another highlight of the evening will be a cello solo, "Allegro Appasionato" by C. Saint‑Saens, played by George House, senior.
