The Interim Association of Student Councils held its first meeting 7‑8 periods February 25 in the honor study hall for the purpose of organizing a new conference.

Twelve schools, Glenbard, Glenbrook, East Leyden, West Leyden, West Morton, West Niles, Prospect, West Proviso, West Waukegan, Wheaton and Willowbrook, were invited to attend. From these schools one sponsor and one or more Student Council members acted as delegates for their respective schools.

On hand to meet the council member were Jane Lewis and Dave Stenmark, who also presided over the meeting. Karen Barrett, Mike Callaghan, Jerry Mason, Barb Clark,

and Miss Joyce Buck were also present as representatives from West.

Topics discussed during the meeting, which lasted until 4:30 p.m., were the unanimous agreement that a sportsmanship trophy be awarded at the end of each year to the school which has done the most to promote good will and sportsmanship at games, a conference dance

All schools are in favor of joining the new conference with the exception of two West Morton and Niles West who are willing but are not yet able because they have not officially split from their old schools.
