Two students from Maine West have qualified for the NROTC scholarship awards. Chuck Robison and Doug Wright have met the rigorous requirements set by the Navy.

Through the comprehensive selection system of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, successful candidates will start their Naval careers in colleges and universities across the country. Qualified graduates of these universities will be commissioned in the Regular Navy or Marine corps, and will enter the Fleet as

well-trained junior officers, taking their places alongside young officers from other outstanding colleges of the country and the Naval Academy

Chuck and Doug have passed the stiff academic tests and are in excellent physical condition. Each was given a personal interview which probed his character. They are now waiting for the results of that interview. If they are judged to be competent future officers, a possible $7,200 award will be given to each.
