Tri‑M Plans State Meet

Maine West will play host to the state convention of the Modern Music Masters, national music honor society, on Saturday, March 26.

The program for the day will consist of general sessions, tours of the school, election of state officers and sponsors, and demonstrations by students. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria.

Tri‑M Society was first established in 1936 at Maine and in 1952 became a national organization. This convention will be attended by representatives and sponsors from all parts of Illinois.

Presiding at the convention will be Tri‑M officers George House, president; Dave Wedeking, vice-president; Becky Edman, secretary; and Gerry Stanowicki, treasurer.

Other officers of the Maine West chapter of Modern Music Masters are Trudy McNeal, historian; Randy Riddell, chaplain; and Don Plautz, sergeant‑at-arms.

The Maine West chapter is under the sponsorship of Mr. Wilbur Schaefer, choral director.
