BUD GUNDELACH, senior, is one of the ten semi‑finalists for the Volunteer of the Year award sponsored by the State Street council and the Volunteer Bureau of the Welfare council of Metropolitan Chicago. The award is given annually to a teenager for outstanding welfare work on a volunteer basis.

FAMILY LIVING CLASSES of the Home Economics department are sponsoring a nursery school for children between the ages of 3‑5 from May 9‑20. There will be two sessions each day; morning from 8:30 to 11:45 and afternoon from 12 to 3.

THE TENTATIVE DATE of the distribution of the "LEGEND" is May 31. The full price of the book must be paid by this time. Those who have not yet paid the $2 balance, may do so in room B-111. Unpaid books will be sold to the people on the waiting list.

TICKETS FOR the May 10 production of "Pleasure of His Company" are now on hand, but will be distributed at a later date. "Watch the bulletin for further announcement," comments Char Thompson, junior.

"MAY MEMORIES," Maine West's first senior mother-daughter dessert will be presented by the Girl's club in the cafeteria Tuesday, May 17, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale May 12, 13, and 16, in the cafeteria for $1.25.

Dr. R. W. Sanftner, chemist for International Mineral and Chemical corporation, spoke to the Science seminar members last week. He discussed "Careers in Science"

The Art department and the Art club announced the following recipients of cash awards for the All‑School Art exhibit: first place‑Doug Hales, senior; second‑Judie Luft, senior; third place‑Carol Blau, junior; fourth place‑John Kurtz, senior; fifth place‑Don Pellet, senior.
