Fred Waring did it and so can the Maine West music department! When the first music festival is given by the band, orchestra, and choral groups Friday, May 13 at 8 p.m., the audience will be treated to this new idea of concert performance.
In an informal atmosphere the concert will be done in an entirely different manner, according to Mr. Wilbur Schafer, choral director. Special features will be presented by the Choraliers, the Boys' quartet from V‑show, Show band, and the recent solo‑ensemble top performers. Also to enliven the musical effects will be the use of special lighting and scenery.
Included in the program by the Senior choir will be "Almighty God of Our Fathers," "All Through the Night," "Jacob's Ladder," "You Are Beautiful," and "Echo Song." The Girls' glee club will sing, "Look for a Silver Lining and "Barbara Allen." "No Other Love and "There's a Whistle in the Thistle," will be presented by the Choraliers.

The Concert band will play "National Emblem," "Phedre Overture," "Ballet for Young Americans," which will have dramatizations from drama students with the help of Mrs. Eleanor Annen, speech teacher; "El Capeo," and "Skyrockets March."
"12th Street Rag," "Tail Gate," "Tuxedo Junction," "Si Trocadero," "Artistry in Rhythm," and "Congenial" will be featured by the Show band.
