The announcement of the Westerner and Legend staffs for 1960‑61 was the highlight of the Quill and Scroll Banquet held on May 10 at Idrott's restaurant. Members of the present Westerner and Legend staff and the students in the English III‑J class were invited to the banquet. Guest of honor included Mr. John J. Clouser, director of student personnel, Mr. William Ludolph, head of Maine West's English department, Mr. Floyd Fulle, editor of the Des Plaines Suburban Times, Mr. Gerald Royer, Westerner sponsor, and Mr. George Walker, Legend sponsor.

The editor‑in‑chief for next year's Westerner is Andy Adolfson; co‑managing editors, Diana Buthman and Nancy Herzog; page one editors, Art Chick and Dave O'Connell; page two editors, Karen David and Jim Scott; page three editors, Pat Bolden and Marcy Tuttle; and sports page editors, Ed Stedman and Al Wanket.

The other positions filled were Diane Lyon, copy editor, assistants Rosie Sherry and Carol Dillon; headline editor

is Anaterese Giardini, assistants, Dave O'Connell, Jim Scott, and Rosie Sherry. The photography editor is Carol Dillon; chief photographer is Skip Dautel, aided by Bob Criss and Bill Dautel.

Circulation manager is Sue Geiger; exchange manager and typist is Arlene Boyce. Bruce Schellin and Jim Scott will serve as columnists.

Heading the Legend for next year will be Barbara Lehr, editor‑in‑chief; Karen Krull, business manager; Susan Frasier, senior class editor; Betty Thiet, clubs editor; Pam Meyer, organizations and activities editor; Sports editor, Wilton Battles; copy editor, Sue Amy; Nancy Shields, administration editor; Marilyn Retzlaff, faculty editor; and Richard Geertz, class assistant.

Other members of the staff are Gayle Bauman, clubs, organizations, and activities assistant; David Jeffery the sports assistant; Valerie Olson, senior assistant‑art work; and Carol Peterson, last year's editor‑in-chief, is the Editor Emeritus.
