Maine Looks To Hinsdale

Tomorrow the Maine Blue Demons will travel to Hinsdale for an afternoon contest with the Red Devils. With a 7‑0 victory over Evanston under their belts, the varsity gridders are anxious to do battle with the strong Hinsdale squad. If pre‑season scores are any indication, the Demons will probably be favored over the Red Devils who suffered a 35‑0 shellacking from New Trier, also of the Suburban League.

At least two backs, Joe Simonini, halfback; and Vic Dutkovich, fullback, will be returning from the Hinsdale team of last year which sported a mediocre 4‑3 conference record, good for third place behind pace‑setter LaGrange and the Blue Demons.

Junior quarterback Harold Brandt and junior halfback Jim Carmignani round out the T formation which has long been utilized by Hinsdale's grid squad. Biggest player on the Hinsdale roster is a 6' 3", 230‑pound tackle, Dick Zambo. Though Zambo is first‑string material for the Red Devils, coach Harvey Dickinson complains of a lack of depth in the guard and tackle slots. This is probably Hinsdale's weakest point in their game.
