Halfback Hampered By
Diseased Hotrod

"All together now. One, two, three, PUSH!" The refrains can be heard almost every afternoon in the Maine parking lot as a certain '52 Packard with an acute case of cancer (that's rusting out, girls) gets pushed to, a running start by whomever its amiable senior owner can recruit. Says Chuck Reid,, who LOVES his car in spite of everything, "It's these little things that make life, interesting."

Chuck certainly doesn't mean "little" when he speaks of his home life, for he is one of a family of ten and he claims that they all share the same pair of shoes. That l rather doubtful, though.

An import from the East, this senior is a man of few words. When asked to tell ALL about himself, he stated, "Born in Syracuse, raised in Philadelphia, and educated at Maine!"

Almost everything rates on Chuck's list of likes including a certain senior girl at Maine, but he 'gets "burned" seeing tight levis and handholding in Maine halls.

Serving four years on student council, thug year as assembly co‑chairman, being vice‑president of Boys' club, and an avid football and basketball player keep Mr. Reid very busy. As a member of the Varsity football squad, he strongly believes that Maine West will have to work twice as hard, to build school spirit since the students are making tradition, not following it.

During the summer months Chuck spent his time in Wisconsin at Conference Point camp doing "secret projects" with Bud Hamilton (he' worked on a ground crew).

Regarding his plans for the future, Chuck would like to at tend Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania majoring in business administration. His secret desire is to one day be a used car dealer!
