Illinois Wesleyan, while maintaining a university organization, is a good example of the small American college. It emphasizes the Liberal Arts and Fine Arts, and features a school of Nursing.

Under Methodist sponsorship, Illinois Wesleyan has been a church‑affiliated college since its founding. It is noted for its religious courses.

Illinois Wesleyan is located at Bloomington, one of the most beautiful cities in Illinois. The Spring festival, usually held in April, is under the general management of the admissions office and the sophomore class. Entertainment consists of a preview of various campus activities.
