78 To Help Gather News
In order to facilitate the gathering of information from the individual homerooms, each teacher was asked to appoint a homeroom representative to the Westener. These representatives are the students' representatives to the paper, and any articles, suggestions, or Morfit items are to be submitted to the homeroom representative who will submit them to the Westener.

These 78 representatives will in turn be represented by a member of their class who will be coordinator of that class. The coordinators will be: Sue Jacobs, freshman; Marcia Relph, sophomore; Lynn Ruark, junior; and Tim Hunt, senior.
In addition to the homeroom reporter system, every student has been asked to fill out a card with his name, homeroom, and some personal information about himself. These cards are very important to the Westener staff in order to avoid misspellings of students names and so that a student can be immediately identified as to class, homeroom, and personal interests.

Tim Hunt, director of homeroom reporters and member of the Westener staff stated, "If all cards are filled out properly we will have a complete file of all students at Maine West. We hope to avoid misspellings and incorrect references in the future and this can only be done with the help of all students."
