Demon Of The Week

"Rapid Robert." This is a good name for senior Bob Kunkel, who hasn't stopped since his sophomore year.

Bob hasn't been in gym for three of his four years at Maine because of his part in football, basketball, and baseball for four years. He has earned three sets of numerals and got his letter last year as pitcher on the state championship varsity baseball team. His football career was brought to a temporary and abrupt halt last year when he received a broken collar bone in the first game against Evanston. He did, however, recover in time to play J-V basketball.

Bob, a handsome senior, is six feet tall and weighs 160 lbs. His longest gain so far this season as tailback and safety on punt returns has been 40 yards which was on a punt return against York. Bob credits his success this year to the tremendous protection from the line. This year he hopes to go down state with the baseball team again.

Bob plans to attend Northern Illinois and study for a major in mathematics and a minor in physical education.
