Letters To The Editor
Continuing Complaints

Dear Editor:
I think that the speed limit should be changed and enforced, or timing lights set up on the far stretch of the eastern parking lots. Even our own parking lot monitors can be seen rodding up and down this stretch, then backing off at the last minute.

A Junior

Dear Editor:
I am a senior, and I wish to direct my letter to the underclassmen especially.

After taking the PSAT, Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, I have realized what a help more than two years of mathematics and sciences could have been.

A thorough knowledge o f freshman algebra is almost compulsory in passing college board tests with high ratings. Plane geometry is also a great help in many instances.

Questions pertaining to biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science are also prevalent.

The school requires three years of English, so you take advantage of them and then continue with fourth year literature.

If your schedule can possibly be arranged for you to take at least a few of the preceding, do so!

A Senior

Dear Editor,
What is the matter with the freshman class? Are they shy? There is absolutely no school spirit in the class of '63. Very few freshman have even signed up for school activities in order to form an opinion.

Even some of our student council representatives do nothing. They simply sit and do homework during meetings. If they were not going to offer suggestions and vote as well as they possibly could why did they run for office? Elections should be only for those students who want to represent their class to the best of their ability.

Most of the clubs at Maine West are made up of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Hardly any members of the freshman class have even taken the trouble to attend one meeting of any of the clubs just to form an opinion of it.
