Rifle Club
Rifle Club, according to Mr. Otto Kohler, sponsor, is open to all students, boys and girls alike. The first meeting will be held soon.
Plans for this year are indefinite, as no range has been provided for Maine West. "Students who wish to shoot will be using the range at Maine on Thursdays and possibly Friday," remarked Mr. Kohler.
Rifles will be furnished by the club. Ammunition and targets, however, must be purchased from the club. Boys may have their ammunition provided by the army. Dues for the club are $1.
Later in the year, Mr. Kohler hopes to have the club go to Hilldale for trap and skeet shooting and to the Fox Valley Rifle range. He also expressed the desire for an outdoor range at Maine West.
Good Ghosts Offer Thanks
Girls club would like to thank all those who co‑operated in their annual Good Ghosts campaign, which ended today. According to Lynn Lewis, president, the drive under the charge of Sue Stolte and Marilyn Manfly, sophomores, was a success. The canned foods collected in homeroom for two weeks and from door to door on Halloween eve, will be delivered to the Des Plaines Welfare agency.
Boys Collect Coat Hangers
As a result of Mr. Clouser's request for coat hangers, Boys' club is going to sponsor a hanger drive. The hangers will be used as part of cloakroom facilities at all Maine West events. Sweatshirts To Be Sold
Pep club will again this year sponsor a sweatshirt sale about the third week in November. The Maine West shirts will be white, with Columbia blue warrior and lettering.
