Council To Sponsor Paper Drive Project

What are those green, falling things that make every autumn so complete? Leaves? No, it's money. That wonderful stuff called dough that makes every financial project so successful is the goal of your student council in a new project. The idea is a paper drive.

The service corps will manage the drive. Nemo Shayne, chairman of service corps, said that any money collected will be used for such purchases as pom‑pom uniforms and cheerleading outfits. All extra money will be deposited into the student council general treasury.

Nemo reports that four huge trailer trucks will be here to take any paper off the hands of the service corps. "It would be rather funny if the trucks didn't show

up on the 30th of November," was one thing overheard in the halls of Maine West. "When you consider it," said another person, "the expressions on the faces of the junior G-men would be one worth remembering."

All paper will be accepted with the exception of old copies of the WESTERNER.. We, the staff, feel that these documents are much too valuable to be trusted in the hands of service corps men. Only joking, fellows.

"We need support in order to have a successful project," according to Nemo. "If everyone pitches in on November 30 with loads of newspapers, comic books, and magazines, it will be a tremendous lift to the spirit of Maine West."
