Court Lists Violations

To prosecute violators of parking lot rules Maine West has its own traffic court, which meets Wednesday after school in C 116, under the jurisdiction of chief judge Jerry Mason.

Offenses range from improper parking to reckless driving, including unnecessary noise making, and failure to display a parking lot sticker. Tickets are given out by the parking lot monitors under the supervision of Phil Shayne.

Sentences start with 50c fines and may be as severe as recommendations to the dean, with a possibility of suspended driving privileges.

Members of the court include: Jerry Mason; Dennis Obermeyer, assistant judge; Ron Martin, prosecuting attorney; Justin Berndt, bailiff; Kathy Clayton, clerk; and Karen Wulff, assistant clerk.
