"Ground Sticks! ground sticks! whack, ouch'." Such was the bedlam at the beginning of the GAA student‑faculty hockey game two weeks ago.

The faculty team, composed of Mrs. Winifred Paulson, Misses Barbara Bovenmyer, Joyce Buck, Bonnie Walheim, Mae Engen, Corinne Clark, and Kathryn Pierce, skilled and very competent, managed to slip a few goals past the watchful eyes of the students.

Barb Manny, star right inner, slammed the ball through the goals past Mrs. Paulson, who was off guard because of the lack of activity near her, for the student's only score.

Composing the students' team were Pat Huey, Bev Gunderson, Penny Weihane, Lynn Hom, Pat Stein, Bev Ringe, Trudy McNeal, Barb Manny, Gerry Dettman, Lynne Ruark, Pat Ritter, Sue Schavitz, Bev Latala, Carla Rothe, Carolyn Cushman, and Diana Buthman.

Despite the underdogs' courageous efforts, however, the faculty won 4‑1. The students hope to even the score when they play the faculty in basketball.
