The pep song for West has been chosen. It is sung to the tune of the Minnesota Rouser and the words are:
Hail to Thee the Blue, Gold and White.
Warriors loyal, we'll cheer you ever onward.

Care for the needy. Maine West's Social Science society sponsored the CARE drive this past week.
Under the sponsorship of Mr. Eric Edstrom, Tri‑S members went around and collected in the homerooms. Club treasurer Sharon Blume, junior, proclaimed, "The CARE drive was a success, and we wish to thank all the students and faculty for their help."
The proceeds from this drive will be sent overseas to provide needy families with food. Each dollar collected provides 22 pounds of food overseas.
On December 26 Maine West and Maine students will leave from Midway airport for Mexico. Their tour will include such places as Mexico City, Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Pyramids of Teotihuacon, Floating Gardens of Zochimilco, and bull fights. Students will spend New Year's eve at Hotel Victoria in Oxaca.

Marcheta Birk, senior; Carol Majka, senior; Carol Shield, junior; Barb Shield, sophomore, and Cindy Wehlaez, junior are registered for the trip at the present time. Mrs. Helen Stewart, of the commercial department will accompany the group from Maine West.
The tour will return to Midway airport January 2. The schedule has been arranged by Theilig International Tours, Inc. and costs $297.
The Penny Flame Cherry Pie contest, held December 4 and judged by members of the faculty, was won by Judy Small, senior, who was chosen from seven finalists. She is now eligible for the district contest.
Alice Blocker, junior, was runner‑up in the contest.
The seven finalists in the bake‑off Friday were Alice Blocker, junior; Jean Farley, senior; Barbara Frana, senior; Diana Giroux, sophomore; Carol McCauley, sophomore; Barbara McKown, junior; and Judy Small, senior.
All the girls who participated in the contest were from Mrs. Christian's and Miss Teuscher's Food II classes.
Northern Illinois Gas company sponsored the contest.
