Julitz Given Recognition

William Julitz, senior, has been selected as winner of the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award. This award is recognized as evidence of superior scientific aptitude.

"These Awards," commented Mr. R. J. Frost, principal, "are especially significant. Today, everyone realizes the importance of the study of science in our secondary schools. The Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award provides appropriate recognition to senior students with the highest scholastic standing in science subjects."

A bronze medal will be presented to William during the school's graduation ceremonies. Surveys show that more than 30 per cent of the winners since 1933 have been encouraged by the Award to follow scientific careers.

As winner of the Award at Maine West, William is eligible to compete for Science Scholarships, sponsored by the Bausch and Lomb Optical Company, at the University of Rochester, New York.
