The sixth annual Betty Crockor contest, in which all senior girls were eligible, was held last Tuesday, December 1, in the search for the homemaker of tomorrow.
This contest was held in most high schools throughout the 50 states. Participating in the scholarship program were these girls from Maine West: Sandi Amy, Joyce Anderson, Nikki Bernardi, Ginny Cernak, Nancy Checker, Madelyn Christian, Diana Dreksler, Becky Edman, Joan Fancy, Marcine Fiddelke. The winner from these girls will be announced before the end of the semester. She will receive the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow pin. Then she will have a chance at the state award; a scholarship and a trip to Washington.
The national contest for the overall homemaker presents a $5,000 scholarship to the winner.
