Law Gets Santa

by Gil Caudill

Scene ‑ Court Room

Officer ‑ "Judge, we caught this little old man going like fury just outside of town."

Judge ‑ "Just what would you estimate his speed as?"

Officer ‑"Well, I would say about 200 miles per hour."

Judge -"And just what is the speed limit at that point."

Officer ‑ "65 miles per hour on the highway."

Little old man ‑ "But sirs, I wasn't on the highway."

Officer ‑ "Well, where were you then ‑ flying?"

Little old man ‑ "You might say that."

Officer ‑ "That's ridiculous, but anyway, he didn't have any lights, except one small red one in front of him."

Little old man ‑ "I don't need lights. There is hardly any traffic where I go."

Judge ‑ "I don't think we can get anything out of this little old man. What did you say he was doing?"

Officer ‑ "He was driving a sled."

Judge ‑ "A sled? Er‑ all‑ I believe that you had better be on your way, sir."

Little old man ‑ "Thank you sir. I shan't forget."

In the distance ‑ "Hi‑ Ho Rudolph ‑"
