Nine new students have been added to Maine West's enrollment. They include one senior, three juniors, three sophomores, and two freshmen.
Diane Fugate, '60, moved here from St. Petersburg, Florida. Maine West's size was first to impress her. "I was lost!" she exclaims. Diane believes that this school is harder than the one she previously attended.
From Morgan Park in Chicago, comes Judy Holm, '61. There is nothing that she doesn't like about the school. "It's sharp," views Judy.
Also in the class of '61 is Corla Hykes, formerly of Riverside, California. According to her, "Maine West is pretty. It has very good teachers but there is much more discipline here."
Carol Ann O'Hare, '61, came here from New Jersey where she attended a school of 500 students. In spite of its size, Carol likes Maine West. "Everyone is so friendly," she emphasizes.

In the class of '62 is Jeff Bitzer of Ohio. There he went to a school that "would fit in one of the wings at Maine West!"
Linda Fugate, '62, believes that this is the biggest school she has ever attended. Like her sister, Diane, Linda prefers the Florida climate, but also prefers Maine West.
Maine West has favorably impressed Kathy Tate,'62, of Flint, Michigan. "The very first day of school I thought I was going to like it, and I do!" reports Kathy.
Joan Niedziecki, '63, likes this modern school; she is a transfer from Schurz High school in Chicago. "The teachers and students are nicer here." according to Joan.
Another transfer from Morgan Park high school is Everett Hansen, '63. He likes Maine West because it is new and everyone is so friendly.
