The Maine West GAA swimming team splashed to a fifth place in the Postal swimming meet comprised of all GAA teams in the state.

The girls swam against 12 other schools, of which River Forest, Glenbrook, and Riverside‑Brookfield took top honors, respectively;

Beverly Gunderson, senior, came in second in the state in both the 50‑yard freestyle and the 50‑yard butterfly.

All Stars Play Faculty

Pat Stein's freshman team dribbled around Barb Manny's junior team to capture a victory in the basketball intramurals last week. The win entitled the freshmen to meet the faculty Thursday afternoon. The faculty conquered the frosh, 50‑15.

The All‑Stars consist of Marilyn Harrigan, freshman; Lynn Holm, freshman; Kern Lemke, freshman; Barb Manny, junior; and Trudy McNeal, senior at the forward slots. Guards on the All‑Star squad are Bev Gunderson, senior; Judy Kasanda, freshman; Marie Salazar, freshman; Pat Stein, freshman; and Fran Toay, freshman. These girls met the faculty January 21.
