Maine West's mermen won in their only meet last week, when they whipped the rugged Niles squad, 53 to 33. They were also scheduled to swim against Argo, but because of misunderstanding concerning the date, the meet was postponed indefinitely. |
Gary Coxon, a consistent point getter for the team, won the 50‑yard breaststroke event. Rodney Clemens was victorious in the 100‑yard backstroke. In the 50‑yard and 100‑yard freestyle matches, Ken Fadden and John Eastham, respectively, took first places for Maine West. The relay teams came out victorious in both of their races. Clemens, Coxon, Eastham, and Wankat swam for the relay team in the 200‑yard medley while Fadden, Johns, Hales, and Scott made up the team for the 200‑yard free‑style relay. |
