Maine West Offers Clubs For Students To Enjoy

With homecoming only a week away and V‑Show just around the corner, everyone seems to be busy with activities. It is very easy to become lost in the shuffle of extracurriculars and homework. Many Maine West students feel as if they just don't have enough time to join the many clubs sponsored by the school.

A large percentage of the student body actively participates in clubs. They are reaping the many benefits of club membership. Joining one is not only fun, but it prepares a person for the years after high school. Being a club member promotes leadership and responsibility. It is a personality builder.

Participating in clubs is also very important in unifying the student body. All members have a feeling of belonging that non‑participants simply do not have.

Some students feel that their jobs are more important than school activities. However, students should try to budget their time in order to develop some other interests.

Maine West clubs cater to all sorts of interests ranging from chess to skiing. There are over 30 clubs at Maine excluding sports activities. There is one to suit every taste.
