The Maine West field house, that is now under construction, should be ready for the graduation of the Class of '69. It is felt that this new addition will greatly improve school spirit, especially for basketball.

On the first floor of E‑wing, besides the field house, there will be new art classrooms, a photography classroom and laboratory, and the attendance office. The old office is to be made into an enlarged waiting area for students who are to see their counselors.

An orchestra and band area will be on the second floor. Along with this there will be a practice room and a music theory room. In the basement there will be a girls' locker room and a teaching station. The girls' Physical Education Department will then have A and C‑wing gyms plus the new area in E‑wing.

Next to the auditorium will be a set building room. Larger doors are being made behind the stage so that sets can be brought on to it more easily.

The Library Research Center or LRC, as it is called, will be finished in December and put into use immediately. A lecture hail which will seat 177 students will be included in this new addition. The hall will be equipped with spotlights and a projection booth in the back.

A small stage will help drama classes to give plays and speech classes to give speeches. The new lecture hall will also make team teaching possible at Maine West. Also included in this wing will be a speech classroom, a speech rehearsal room and a drama classroom.

C‑202 will be changed into a large study hail that will also be equipped for teaching. The library study center will be furnished with student tables, and carrels will be placed along the wall. There will also be the stairway which is now being put in the library. Furniture for the new library addition is now being ordered.

Most of the overcrowding now present should be eliminated when the new additions are put into use. Most of the students with study halls in the auditorium will be moved to different parts of the building.
