Candidates To campaign For
Popular Support

The week of April 6‑11 has been designated as Student Council Election Week. During this week campaigning for the offices of president, vice‑president, and secretary will be conducted.

Dave Atkinson and Tom Petersen are this year's candidates for the office of president; John Schmidt and Joe Szabo will vie for the position of vice-president; and Debbie Lusk, Nancy Stade, and Cathy Newport will contest for the position of secretary.

The week of April 7‑11 homeroom assemblies will introduce the candidates to the student body. Each candidate will be allotted several minutes to address his fellow students and be introduced by his campaign manager. Skits will be performed by individual campaign supporters.

Before homeroom every morning the candidates will be in the auditorium to answer questions and distribute buttons, fliers, posters, and various campaign materials.

After school the campaign site will switch to the campaign headquarters of the candidates where volunteer workers will manufacture campaign devices. Again the candidates will be available to discuss future plans and explain their positions.

Voting booths will be set up at the close of the campaigns outside the cafeteria. Students may vote during their lunch period and before or after school. Three IBM cards must be completed: one stating the choice for president, one for vice‑president, and one for secretary.

The results of the election will be announced on Saturday, April 11, at the Election Jitney. The Election Jitney will be held in the cafeteria; admission is free.
