Girls' Club To Present Annual Tea

On Thursday, April 17, the Girls' Club will sponsor the annual Senior‑Faculty Tea. It will be held in the Maine West cafeteria and will begin at 4 p.m. Tickets are $1 per student.

All senior girls are invited to this event as well as the teachers and members of the staff. The club encourages all girls to invite a teacher to meet them at the tea. "It is not mandatory to invite a teacher, but it is better to," commented Laraine Mesavage '69, president. "This way everyone would feel more a part if they were meeting someone, instead of just coming."

The theme of this year's tea is "April Come She May." Chairman of the four committees are Carol Mielke '69, decorations; Sally Lino '72, publicity; Karla Felde '72, tickets and programs; and Kay Lowden '71, refreshments.

Scattered throughout the cafeteria will be umbrellas filled with paper flowers. Flower bouquets, decorating the cafeteria windows, will accent the spring theme of the tea.

The programs for this year will be different from those of past years. The committee in charge of them has decided to have umbrella‑shaped programs in various pastel colors. "Having a small program is one of the main advantages of doing them differently," confided Karla Felde '72. "This way, only the necessary information concerning the tea will be included, and we will be able to produce a more balanced program."

Entertainment for the affair is being taken care of by Laraine Mesavage.
