Next year's Student Council officers were announced Friday night, April 11, at the Election Jitney. These officers are Dave Atkinson '70, president; Joe Szabo '70, vice president; and Debbie Lusk '70, secretary.

Dave comments, "The main problem with Student Council this year, I feel, is that the students do not know enough about what Student Council is doing. With the new constitution put into action next year, we hope it will enable us to have more of the students participating and providing the students with more information."

Dave has spent much time working on Student Council. He has been a member of Student Council for three years, worked six months last year on the PAR Program, and is president of his Junior Class.

"I feel next year should be a success with work and patience," Dave declared.

Joe Szabo feels that as vice president of Student Council he is a servant of the student body. "I will attempt to accomplish what the students want done as the minimum of my work. There are other responsibilities as an officer." Joe continues, "But I feel representing the students' needs is the most important.

"I've known Debbie and Dave for several years and feel we will work well together as a team and accomplish much," Joe states.

"This year has been a do nothing year," Debbie Lusk comments. 'Besides the regular parties and Proms, Student Council has done nothing but get sweet rolls for sale in the morning.

"The new constitution should help to solve the dissatisfaction about Student Council, and many things may be accomplished," Debbie declared.

Debbie has been in Student Council for three years and also served as Junior Prom chairman, vice president of the Sophomore Class, and secretary of Brotherhood Society.
