Pow‑Wow Boosts Music Department

On Saturday, April 12, the Maine West Music Boosters held their annual Pow‑Wow.

Entertainment consisted of swimming, dancing, games, a bake sale, and door prizes.

There were also stage performances by Jack London, a professional entertainer. The Show Band and the Double Jazz Trio and the Ted Wagner Quintet, also performed.

The funds raised through the Pow‑Wow will be used for the direct benefit of the music students. They will be used for music scholarships and field trips.

At 10:30 p.m. there was a drawing for 12 door prizes. The prizes and winners were Swinger camera, A. Waski; clockradio, Chris Ott; Royal typewriter, Ernie Drews; Concord tape recorder, Sean Ward; Weber kettle grill, Gary Carpenter; and a Magnovox 14" color TV, Mark Thorsen. There were also six $3 gift certificates awarded.
