Tryouts are over; the cast is chosen; and now the students set to work to make this year's all‑school play a success. Andre Obey's three‑act play, Noah, will be presented by the Thespian Society on May 22, 23, and 24 at 8 p.m. in the auditorium.
"It is a lovely, lyrical, romantic treatment of the Biblical story of Noah, a man who sets sail on an ark with his wife, his three sons, three neighboring girls, and a host of unusual animals," commented Mr. Robert Norris, director of the play.
Tryouts for parts in Noah were held April 8, 9, and 10. The usual format for tryouts is a reading for a particular character; but in addition to reading, each student was given several impromptu pantomimes and adlibbing scenes to perform. Pantomimes included anything from pretending to be a chocolate‑covered dart board to an elephant.
