During the week of April 21 through 25 the new officers for Student Council were elected.

The new committee chairmen are Donna Kuykendall '71, organizations; Cathy Leer '70, social; Cathy Newport '70, public relations; Amy Robertson '71, service; and Lynn Lloyd '70, AFS.

Other positions that were filled were corresponding secretary-treasurer, Toni Hem '70; MidCentral Suburban League delegate, Roxy Doremus '71; and V‑Show director, Sue Winn '70.

The candidates had to submit their names to Miss Marcia Storey or Mr. Rollin Porter, this year's Student Council sponsors, before the elections. Speeches were then given for the candidates during the meetings after which the elections were held.

This year's Organizations Committee chairman, Vicki Coash '70, commented, "I think next year's officers will do a really good job. These committee chairmen are going to have to work with

the new constitution. They're the ones that are going to see if the constitution will work out so it can be continued in future years."

When asked about next year's plans, Donna Kuykendall stated, "I'd like to try and get the Cubs to play basketball against the varsity team. The proceeds will be given to a charity."

No definite plans for next year's Variety Show have been made as yet. The show will again be in November. Sue Winn '70 commented, "We're open for suggestions!"

Amy Robertson '71, newly elected Service Committee chairman, stated, "I'd like to continue the doughnut program only selling them every day. Also I want to try and make Service Committee more than just a garbage committee. Student Council is a great organization, but it could be a lot better if the representatives were more willing to work and the student body was more willing to support the Council."
