Maine West's 1968‑1969 Art Awards Night will be held Wednesday, May 21, in the Maine West cafeteria. The program kill begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be attended by approximately 300 people. Refreshments will be served to the guests.
One hundred twenty‑two art awards will be presented to those students deserving of them. The students were nominated for their awards through the recommendation of the five faculty members in the Art Department. They are Mr. George Blanas, Mr. Eugene Patrizi, Mr. Mark Mattson, Mr. Earl Meitzner, and Mrs. Diana Johnson.
Students were nominated for awards on the observation of their teachers in four areas.

These were response, attitude, and performance; scholarship in the department, growth in performance, creativeness, and awareness; and service to the class and the Art Department.
Mr. Blanas, chairman of the Art Department, stressed, "These awards are based on the students' individual abilities and not on any type of art competition.''
The recipients of the awards will be students chosen from Art I through Art IV, Design Materials I and II, and the sketching classes. The awards are certificates made of papyrus paper with gold lettering. The official seal of the Art Department is embossed on each. The seal was originally
