Student Council has recently been working on the AFS Bus Stop.
On Saturday, June 28, 42 AFS students will arrive to spend four days with Maine West host families. The students are from all over the world. They have spent one year in the United States as foreign exchange students from their respective countries.
While here, the students will have a full schedule of events. Saturday and Sunday have been left free to allow the exchange students to get acquainted with their host families.
On Monday, June 30, the AFS students and their host brothers and sisters will take a bus trip to Chicago's inner city. According to Lynn Lloyd '70, next

year's AFS committee chairman, this trip is a request of the students. She remarked that the students have heard of this part of America and want to see it.
On Monday evening at 8 p.m. in the cafeteria, AFS will sponsor a dance. All Maine West students are invited to attend. During the evening the exchange students will present a talent show. The students will leave Des Plaines on Tuesday, July 1.
Chicago is the first stop of a three week bus tour the students will be taking in the United States before they arrive in New York to leave for their home countries.
Lynn remarked, "We're very enthusiastic about the program. We hope it will be a success."
