Presidents' Council Unifies MW Organizations' Clubs

Presidents' Council is an organization at Maine West newly formed at the beginning of the year. Its members include the presidents of all clubs, organizations, and classes here at Maine.

The Council meets once a month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. At these meetings the presidents discuss the aspects of leadership while enjoying a meal planned by one of the Council members.

The purpose of this organization is to achieve greater communication among the organizations at Maine West. These meetings tie the groups together and enable them to discuss their problems and to offer helpful suggestions.

Presidents' Council is provided for in the new Student Council constitution. According to Dave Atkinson, next year's Student Council president, "Presidents' Council will be a branch of Student Council. It will help Student Council in its attempt to improve communication with the students and draw the groups together."

The Council was formed just this year, but it has worked hard during the year. At the beginning of the year, the Council sponsored an open house for the clubs at Maine. Miss Marcia Storey and Mr. A. K. H. Cochrane are the sponsors.
