The Maine West Dads' Club will present the first annual Spirit awards along with the sports awards on May 26.

Individual plaques will be presented to four boys and four girls, one from each class.

The two Freshman winners are Don Hudson and Carol Gigante, and the chosen Sophomores are Scott Gyssler and Janet Barkell. There was a tie in the Junior Class between Tina Kaneen and Debbie Lusk, while Mark Millonas was also chosen. Tom Barrett and Mary Ann Gianpetro were the winning seniors.

These names will be engraved on a larger plaque which will be placed near Maine West's front entrance.

The names selected from each homeroom were submitted to class sponsors and a committee chosen by Dads' Club officers who determined the winners. These individuals were selected with respect to their outstanding contributions and participation in student clubs and activities throughout the year.

Letters were sent to each winner early last week to inform them of their merits. It was due to the Maine West Dads' Club and the students of Maine West that these awards are presented to those students worthy of them.
