Maine West Stickmen Enter
'69 Conference Meet, 3-3

With two losses in recent meets the Warrior golfers' record has dropped to 3-3. The two losses came at the hands of Glenbrook North and Niles West. Against the Niles West Indians the stickmen amassed a total of 164 strokes, but Niles came up with 161 to win by three. Warrior scores included a 39 by Bob Edwards '70, a pair of 41's by Ed Duchaj '70 and Gary Navratil '71, and a 43 by Tom Navratil '69.

The match with the Glenbrook North Spartans produced higher scores with one exception. Last year's most valuable golfer, Bob Edwards, took low scoring honors with his 38; but the rest of the scores fell short of the Glenbrook total. Senior Tom Navratil took a 45, and he

was followed by his brother Gary who shot a 46. Ed Duchaj '70 was next with a 48 while Randy Getsla '71 rounded out the Warrior scoring with a 49.

In the District competition at Skokie Playfields in Winnetka, the varsity placed toward the bottom of the standings. The total score consisted of the four low scores for the 18 holes. Sophomore Randy Getsla and junior Bob Edwards both shot 84's and were followed by Ed Duchaj with an 36 and Tom Navratil who shot an 89.

With the conference meet still to go, the Varsity golfers are hoping to improve their conference standing.
