The tenth annual Baccalaureate in the Maine East Gymnasium took place Sunday, June 8, at 3 p.m.
The invocation was given by the Reverend Bernhard M. Johanson of the First Presbyterian Church of Des Plaines, followed by the scripture reading. The reading was delivered by the Reverend R. K. Wobbe of the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church of Des Plaines.
The Luther Mueller hymn, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God," was sung by the Commencement Concert Choir conducted by Mr. Grant Anderson.

The sermon concerning "Life and Your Identity" followed the hymn with the Reverend John P. Smyth of the Maryvile Academy in Des Plaines speaking.
The Reverend R. K. Wobbe of the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church performed the Benediction which preceded the Recessional. "Grand March" from "Aida" and "Coronation March" from "The Prophet" played by the Commencement Orchestra ended the program. Seniors received five tickets in homeroom for this occasion and four tickets for the Commencement.
