On Sunday, September 19, the Maine West's "It's Academic" team defeated Lake Forest and Willowbrook High Schools. The final score placed Maine West ahead with 450 points, Willobrook second with 300 points, and Lake Forest 270 points.

Bill Adair '69, Stephen Baenziger '69, captain, and Scott Ferraiolo '69 composed the winning team. The boys were chosen from 15 students who auditioned last spring.

Miss Ruth Nickelson, coach of the "It's Academic team," commented, "I was very proud of the boys, and thought they did an exceptional job."

The program was televised Saturday, October 5, at 5 p.m. on Channel 5.

The boys, in winning, secured a $100 savings bond for the school.

The Maine West team, returned to NBC the following day to participate in a play‑off round. Information on the taping taken Monday, September 30, cannot be given. That game will be programmed later this month.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Maine West has appeared on the "It's Academic Show."
