'That's Life'

"That's Life" is the theme of this year's Maine West Aquiana show. It will be held in the pool area on October 30 at 7 p.m. and on November 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the show are $.75 on Wednesday and $1 on November 1 and 2.

Students are urged to buy their tickets for the Wednesday, October 30, show because they are sold at student prices. The tickets can be bought at the head of the cafeteria or from any girl who is wearing a ribbon which announces the show. They will also be sold at the door for the regular price.

The Committee chairmen working on the November show are Jo Hynes '69, show chairman; Jan Ingles '70, publicity; Pat Quellmalz '69, decorations; Gail Blaha '69, publicity; Linda Lossau '70, continuity; Chris Norton '70, programs; Pat Leeds '70, costumes; and Sharon Brownell '70, audio.

There will be two acts this year with a brief intermission between acts. Included will be 17 numbers and a finale.

The solos in the show are done by Jan Konz '70, Gail Blaha '69, and Gayle Durham '70 who will swim a solo within a number.

Sue Winn '70 and Dave Benton '69 are to swim in a boy‑girl duet. They will swim to the number "Lara's Theme." Other duets are done by Jan Ingles '70 and Sharon Brownell '70, and Laurie Schueller '69 and Jo Hynes '69.

Arlene Wallace '70, choreographer for the boy‑girl sextet, includes in her act: Skip Parent '71, Sue Chips '71, Jim Lillquist '69, Nancy Spiegler '71, Ted Loska '69, and Arlene herself.

There will be two stroking numbers. These numbers are being choreographed by Miss Judy Coddington and Sue Winn '70.

"A little something for everyone," comments Miss Carol Davis, sponsor of Aquiana, in describing this year's Aquiana show, "That's Life." "The theme will not only explain life in general, but it will be entertaining as well. The show will be very good; we've got a wide variety of people, songs, and acts."

The show will begin with a quintet to "That's Life," by Frank Sinatra. Another act with a Sinatra theme is a solo entitled "It Was a Very Good Year." The second act will start with a solo within a group to "The High and the Mighty."

This year's pre‑show entertainment will be provided by the Maine West Show Band. Scott Hayward '70, who is doing the narration, promises the speaking part to be "very funny." To add a little suspense, Scott has been keeping his narration a secret from everyone, including Miss Davis.

"We are working really hard to make this year's show a big success," said Jan Konz '70, president of Aquiana.
