Gridmen, Harriers Close Seasons

Tonight at 8 p.m. Maine West will host the Niles North Vikings in the last home game of the 1968 football season. This is the Dad's Night game in which the fathers of the football players will be honored. The fathers will be presented to the crowd at half‑time.

Maine West is winless in six outings with five losses and one tie. Despite their poor record, the Warriors have shown much improvement since their opening 26‑0 loss to Arlington. In last year's meeting with Niles North, the Warriors won 7‑0. Next week the gridmen close out their season for this year when they play at New Trier West.

Tonight at 4 p.m. the freshman and sophomore cross-country teams will travel to Skokie Woods to compete in the Niles West Invitational. This meet consists of 23 teams competing in three races.

There will be a freshman race for the top freshman runners from each school and a sophomore race for the top seven sophomores. The third race is an open race in which the remaining freshmen and sophomores will compete.

Among the teams competing will be all the teams from the Central Suburban Conference in addition to others from different conferences. On October 26 and November 2 the harriers will complete a successful year while participating in district and state meets.
