Clubs To Attend South's Workshop

"Conventions will play an important part in Student Council activities this year," according to Randy Hann '69, this year's president of Student Council.

Throughout the 1968‑1969 school year there will be three major conventions: the sub‑district convention, the Northeast District convention, and the annual State convention.

Five members from each club sponsored here at Maine are invited to attend the sub‑district convention which will be held tomorrow, November 9, at Maine South. Seven schools including Maine West will attend this workshop designed to discuss how clubs can stimulate participation and enthusiasm in school activities.

Participants in the sub‑district convention will also discuss their school's respective problems and cultivate better understanding and communication between the various schools being represented.

On November 16 Student Council will attend the Northeast District convention. The format will be similar to that of the sub‑district convention but will involve more schools and relate to Student Council business on a larger scale.

In the spring of 1969 the annual State convention will take place. Two delegates from Maine will attend the semi‑formal dance, the main address, and the dinner which comprise the convention.
